Entertain. Engage. Educate.

Walt Disney said that he ‘…would rather entertain and hope that people learned… than educate people and hope they were entertained’. I think that we can all agree, delivering an education that is meaningful, fun and varied is something to strive for in the classroom.

Entertain. Engage. Educate. The three words at the heart of Giglets SmartReads ebooks. SmartReads are classic stories that have been shortened, modernised and animated to create interactive learning experiences. SmartReads allow teachers to introduce some wonderful classic stories to pupils.

In a recent workshop with teachers, SmartReads were reviewed as having a positive ‘impact’ on learning and also found to deliver on the demands and expectations of CfE.

Giglets is currently working with teachers, pupils and local authorities to further develop educational resources for CfE and the Key Stage Curriculum. Watch this space as Giglets works to provide you with must-have tools for your classroom.

I leave you with a quote from Sir Walter Scott: ‘For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.’

That premise is something we hold on to at Giglets.

About Giglets

Giglets is a digital education publisher, delivering quality products to Entertain, Engage and Educate your pupils.

Giglets SmartReads explore classic stories that have often been abandoned in the land of ‘never read’. SmartReads reinvents these stories; shortening, modernising and digitally animating works by authors like Shakespeare and Dickens to create new reading and learning experiences.
