You are invited to join our free seminar coming to a venue near you. Explore educational issues faced by schools today and how ICT can support your need to raise standards.

During the literacy session we will be joined by Stephen Rickard. Stephen is Creative Director at Ransom Publishing, the leading publisher of books and ebooks for reluctant and struggling readers. Stephen is passionate about engaging children and young adults with reading and regularly speaks at seminars and conferences around the country.

He is also an author of books for reluctant and struggling readers. His forthcoming book for literacy professionals, ‘Motivating Reluctant and Struggling Readers’, will be published by Ransom Publishing. In the session Stephen reveals some top tips for engagement and explores the change needed to improve standards and build a culture of enjoyment.

We are also joined by Alan Earl, a police officer from the Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s Internet Child Abuse Team. Alan specialises on the safe use of the internet with young people and in schools. The internet is such a powerful resource if used correctly, Alan will consider online profiles, student engagement policies and how to get the best, safest use out of a valuable teaching tool.

The packed day will also look some of the exciting online applications available and discuss the benefits they bring – especially when Ofsted come calling.
