Roald Dahl Day – September 13th

Roald Dahl’s amazing books have been read by children all over the world. He is one of the world’s most popular children’s authors and has published 21 children’s books, as well as a number of adult stories. Some of his popular titles include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Twits, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda and The BFG.

Roald Dahl was born on 13th September and his birthday has been declared “Roald Dahl Day“. It is celebrated with a wide range of events taking place and it could be a perfect opportunity to read some of his stories, or maybe even learn a little more about the author himself. Dahlicious Dress Up Day is taking place on Friday 25th September and any funds raised will go to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity which helps to make life better for seriously ill children and young people in the UK.

As part of the Primary National Curriculum, students should be encouraged to read for pleasure and wider reading should be promoted both at school and at home. Included in our topical list of resources for September are the Roald Dahl titles that are available on RM Books. These books, and plays, will enable your students to become immersed in the wonderful world of Roald Dahl.

We hope that you enjoy these lovely titles and have a great Roald Dahl Day. Please let us know what you have been up to at your school.

Best wishes,
